The Boekel TropiCooler hot and cold incubator is a compact and efficient incubator for
samples stored in the temperature range of 39°C below ambient to +69°C with a settable temperature range of -19°C to +69°C. Typical applications for the TropiCooler include storing of frozen restriction enzymes, ligation experiments and hybridization testing.
The TropiCooler is supplied with two-machined aluminum blocks, each with a capacity for
14 x 1.5ml microcentrifuge tubes. Each block has a self-contained recessed handle for easy
transport. Under typical lab ambient temperatures and low humidity, the TropiCooler has a well operating temperature range of 39 °C below ambient to +69°C with a settable temperature range of -19 °C to +69°C. As ambient temperature and/or humidity increases the TropiCooler’s performance will diminish slightly in the cooling mode. The TropiCooler
should always be able to produce a well temperature of at least 39 °C below ambient under typical laboratory conditions. The well temperature will typically fluctuate less than +/-
1.0 °C around the set point under normal operating conditions. When the TropiCooler is operated in rooms with high ambient temperature (28°C to 30°C) and/or high humidity 80%RH), the TropiCooler’s cooling mode performance can be diminished by up to 9°C.

The rate of cool down will also be slower than normal under high ambient and high
humidity conditions. For optimum performance, the TropiCooler should be operated in a
cool, dry environment.
