VA-10 is a sensitive (picoampere range) current amplifier that is intended for voltammetric measurements. It can be used with carbon-fiber microelectrodes in biological systems, where the total currents do not exceed a few tens of nA, or with other electrode types. The current range can be customised with different feedback resistors, also a switchable headstage needed  for higher flexibility.

NPI VA-10 Voltammetry/Amperometry Amplifier is a versatile electrochemical instrument designed for a wide range of electrochemical experiments, including cyclic voltammetry, amperometry, and other techniques. It features high-precision current and voltage measurements, making it an essential tool for research in electrochemistry, materials science, and biosensing.

It can be used for either DC amperometry using the built-in voltage source, or it can be operated with user-supplied external voltage waveforms (e.g. for cyclic voltammetry).

DESCRIPTION 

  1. Dual Functionality: The amplifier supports both voltammetry (measuring potential vs. current relationships) and amperometry (measuring current at a constant potential), allowing it to be used for a broad spectrum of electrochemical applications.
  2. Wide Voltage Range: It offers a wide output voltage range of up to ±10V and allows for adjustable sweep rates (from 1 mV/s to several V/s), enabling precise control for a variety of experimental needs.
  3. High Precision: The VA-10 provides high input impedance (>10 MΩ) and low output impedance, ensuring minimal interference with the electrochemical cell and maintaining signal accuracy in both three-electrode setups (working, reference, and counter electrodes).
  4. Current Range & Sensitivity: The amplifier supports current ranges from 0-100 µA and is highly sensitive, capable of detecting nanoampere (nA) to picoampere (pA) currents, making it suitable for low-level electrochemical measurements.
  5. Low Noise and High Stability: Designed with low noise characteristics, the VA-10 ensures highly stable and precise readings, even in challenging environments where small signals need to be measured accurately.
  6. High-Frequency Response: The amplifier’s high-frequency response makes it capable of accurately measuring both low and high-speed electrochemical processes, which is critical in time-sensitive experiments.
  7. Power Supply and Outputs: The amplifier operates on a ±15V or ±12V power supply, and it supports both analog and digital outputs, allowing integration with external data acquisition systems for real-time monitoring and analysis.
